Got a favorite pizza place? Maybe a store that provides exceptional service every time you visit? Become a Chicago Scout and nominate them as a “Best of Chicago” and be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from a Chicago Restaurant and a ChicagoScout.com T-shirt. We’ll also supply a “Best of Chicago” certificate suitable for framing, a graphic image and link to contest results for use on a  website and “ChicagoScout.com Winner T-Shirt” to your nominee.

Tips for Best of Chicago Nominees

Let people know you’ve been nominated! If you have a website put a link to the contest on it and ask your site visitors to vote for you!

Post it on signs inside and outside your business, something like: “Nominated Best of Chicago by ChicagoScout.com, VOTE FOR US!”

Tell everyone that comes in your business, maybe even offer a special discount if you win “best of chicago”. Get creative to get your loyal customers interested and active in helping you.

Official Rules (sort of)

Best of Chicago Nominees:

Best of Chicago nominees are selected by staff of ChicagoScout.com and may also be suggested by visitors or the website ChicagoScout.com.

Voting is restricted to one vote per computer. Totals registered by our servers will be considered final.

Voting in each category will run from about noon-ish Monday until around the following Monday. We’re only human and that’s about the time we eat lunch, so there might be a slight variance when the voting actually begins and ends. But all the votes count we really officially end the voting each Monday.

Also just to point out, if you decide to try to cheat — like using some sort of automated voting — we reserve the right to reset the poll to zero votes at an any time or maybe just remove you from the final results. What we decide to is up to us, but nominees getting an unusually large number of votes per minute will be looked at very closely, as will those getting all their votes from only a  few IP addresses. We’ll also eliminate you as a nominee in any future similar contests. So, cheaters beware we are watching for you.

If your organization wins as the best in your category, it’s ok with us if you want to advertise that you were voted “Best of Chicago” in that category, just as long as you mention that the voting was on ChicagoScout.com. Put it on your signs,  beverage coasters, tattoo it to your forehead if you want — everyone should know how good you are. But you really shouldn’t be talking about this year’s win more than a year or two afterwards otherwise it’s like a Packers fan telling everyone how great they are because they won the Super Bowl in 1997.

Best of Chicago Nominators:

If your submission is accepted as a nomination for the “Best of Chicago” by the ChicagoScout.com staff, you will be entered into into a random drawing to be held on or about the 31st of December. Winners will be notified by email and must respond to the email notification within 7 days of forfeit their prize. Entries to the drawing are limited to one nomination per category per year.Entrants may submit more than one nominee per category, but will recieve only one entry into the year end drawing.
